Join the lab
Undergraduate student
If you are interested in joining LEFO and working in the laboratory and/or in the field, we often have available positions. For more information please send us an email stating your interests and what you would like to accomplish. Ideally, please also send us your CV and transcript. Our lab and work environment is fully bilingual in French and English.
Please note that there are also undergraduate scholarships for the summer semester for which we can help you apply (see this link). However, please note that these scholarships are very competitive and are aimed at those students with an exceptional academic record.
Graduate student
If you are interested in the research activities carried out at LEFO and you wish to complete a M.Sc. or a Ph.D., we encourage you to contact Etienne Laliberté directly, indicating your potential project and past experiences.
Please also send your CV and previous transcripts. Our laboratory and work environment are fully bilingual in French and English and fluency in spoken and written French is not required. However, we encourage lab members to learn French to make the most of their experience of studying at UdeM and living in Montréal, but we use English as the common language whenever this is needed.
There are many competitive scholarships awarded by funding agencies such as FRQNT and NSERC that could help finance your graduate studies. See also the Université de Montréal’s scholarship directory. We also directly finance students who do not have scholarships with our research funds.
Postdoctoral researcher
LEFO is always looking for bright, research-motivated people. If you are interested to join our lab as a postdoctoral researcher, you can contact Etienne Laliberté indicating your research project and past experiences. Please also send a CV.
There are several possibilities to obtain funding, for example via FRQNT and NSERC.
